Juvelook (PDLLA)
Juvelook is often described alongside skin boosters, but it belongs to the collagen-stimulating group. Because several similar-sounding products exist, the most useful skill for a patient is to pin down which one is actually used.
How it works
Juvelook contains poly-D,L-lactic acid (PDLLA) particles, combined with hyaluronic acid in the preparation. Injected into the skin in small amounts, it is intended to prompt the body to build collagen gradually, which may help skin texture, fine lines, enlarged-looking pores and some acne scarring. It adds little immediate volume, so change appears slowly over weeks to months. A short series of sessions about a month apart is typical, and results vary by person.
Who it may suit
- Skin that looks thin, crepey or lacking firmness
- Fine lines and mild texture irregularity
- Enlarged-looking pores and shallow acne scars as part of a wider plan
- People who want gradual change instead of instant plumping
- Those who accept a multi-session course
The treatment day
- Assessment. The doctor looks at skin thickness, scarring and texture to decide whether PDLLA suits your concern.
- Preparation and product check. The product is mixed according to its instructions, and you may ask to see the box, label and lot number.
- Numbing and injection. After numbing cream, small amounts are injected into the skin across the treatment area.
- Follow-up planning. The doctor explains how the effect develops and schedules the next session.
Aftercare
- Avoid rubbing or massaging unless instructed.
- Skip hot baths, saunas and heavy exercise for about a day.
- Use gentle cleansing and sunscreen while small marks settle.
- Hold off on makeup until injection sites have calmed.
- Report persistent lumps, redness or pain to the clinic.
Things to know first
- Small bumps, bruising and redness commonly last about one to three days.
- Nodules can form with PDLLA products, particularly if placed too superficially, and may be slow to resolve.
- Results develop gradually and vary by person; some see modest change only.
- Active infection, autoimmune conditions, pregnancy, breastfeeding and keloid history need discussion first.
- It is not a substitute for lifting treatments when significant sagging is the main concern.
What to check before booking Juvelook in Gangnam
Names do a lot of work in this part of the market. Several PDLLA and polynucleotide products are marketed with similar wording, and some clinics use house names for mixes. Ask for the exact product, the manufacturer and the packaging with its lot number. A clinic that shows you a labeled box and explains what is in it is easier to trust than one that offers a collagen booster without a product name.
Ask about technique and about nodule risk. A thoughtful doctor will describe how deeply the product is placed, how it is diluted and what would be done if a lump developed. Ask also who performs the injection and how often they do so. Because results take weeks to show, a plan should also state when progress will be reviewed.
Finally, check the quote. A clear one lists the product, the amount per session, the number of sessions and what follow-up is included. Be cautious of packages that bundle several sessions upfront before the first has been evaluated. If the proposal seems driven by promotion rather than your skin, compare it with a second consultation.
