How to choose among lifting treatments in Gangnam
Almost every Gangnam clinic offers some form of lifting, and the labels overlap in confusing ways. This hub does not rank the options. It sets out what separates them and what to verify at a consultation, so that two proposals can be compared on the same terms.
How to choose
Name the mechanism, not just the brand
Ask whether the proposal is focused ultrasound, radiofrequency, microwave, laser, or threads. Brand names are often used as shorthand for a whole category.
Match the depth to your concern
Treatments act at different layers. Ask the doctor which layer your concern lies in and why the proposed approach reaches it.
Check the consumables and counts
Tip-based devices run on limited-use cartridges. Ask for the shot or line count in writing, and whether a sealed tip can be shown.
Look at who sets the energy
Settings should be chosen by a doctor who has examined your face, and adjusted to your feedback during the session.
Weigh recovery against your schedule
Energy-based lifts usually need little downtime, while threads involve swelling and bruising. Plan around the realistic range, not the most favorable case.

When a doctor may advise waiting
- Anyone expecting the effect of surgery from a non-surgical device.
- People with active infection, pregnancy, or relevant implants in the treatment area, unless a doctor advises otherwise.
- Those unable to follow aftercare or attend a check-in after treatment.
Lifting: common questions
Which lifting treatment should I pick?
No single option suits everyone. The right choice depends on your anatomy, how much laxity you have, and your tolerance for recovery, so it is better decided at an in-person consultation.
Are the results visible right away?
Some people notice a change soon after, but energy-based tightening generally develops gradually over weeks and varies by person.
Why do two clinics recommend different lifts?
They may use different devices, or weigh your concerns differently. Asking each to explain the reasoning makes the difference clear.
Can lifting treatments be combined?
Sometimes, with spacing and sequencing set by the doctor.
