Thermage FLX

Thermage FLX is a monopolar radiofrequency system from Solta Medical; shot counts and tip authenticity are the points worth checking.

How it works

Thermage FLX uses monopolar radiofrequency to heat the deeper layers of the skin while the surface is cooled. The heating is intended to tighten existing collagen and encourage new collagen over time. Treatment is delivered through a disposable tip that has a set number of pulses. Results develop gradually and vary by person.

Good to know

  • Ask which tip size is planned for the face, eyes, or body and how many pulses are intended.
  • Because tips have a limited pulse count, ask whether a new tip is used for your session and whether it can be shown to you.
  • Discuss any metal implants, pacemakers, or prior fillers, which can affect eligibility.
  • Temporary redness, swelling, and tenderness are common; burns and uneven contour changes are uncommon but possible.

Checking a Thermage FLX treatment before you book

This brand is among the most copied terms on Korean menus, and similar-sounding radiofrequency treatments are often described as Thermage-type. Ask whether the original system is used, then ask for the pulse count to be written on your quote.

It is reasonable to request the sealed tip before it is attached, and to ask for the on-screen counter to be shown. A calm, specific reply is a healthy sign of how the clinic handles its consumables.

Thermage FLX: common questions

Is a Thermage-type treatment the same as Thermage FLX?

Not necessarily. The term is used loosely for monopolar radiofrequency. Ask which device is actually used.

Does a higher pulse count mean a better outcome?

Not by itself. The right count depends on the area, your skin, and the doctor's plan.

Can I have it with a pacemaker?

Usually not without medical clearance. Tell the doctor about any implanted device before booking.
