Mark-Vu

Mark-Vu is a digital skin analysis camera system; ask how its readings are interpreted and what they are used for.

How it works

Mark-Vu is a digital skin analysis camera system. It photographs the face under different lighting, such as standard and polarized or ultraviolet modes, and software estimates features like spots, pores, wrinkles, and redness. The output is a set of images and scores intended to support a conversation. It is an assessment tool and does not treat the skin.

Good to know

  • Ask what the scores are compared against, such as age group or your own earlier images.
  • Clarify that the doctor interprets the images alongside a physical examination.
  • Treat scores as prompts for discussion, not as a diagnosis.
  • Ask how images are stored and whether you may keep a copy.

Checking a Mark-Vu treatment before you book

Skin analysis can be informative and can also be used to justify a larger plan. Ask the doctor which findings matter most and which are normal variation.

The strongest use is comparison over time, using the same lighting and conditions. If a clinic offers follow-up analysis, ask how it will be done so the images are truly comparable.

Mark-Vu: common questions

Is the analysis a medical diagnosis?

No. It is a tool; a doctor's examination and judgment come first.

Do I need to remove makeup?

Usually yes, for accurate images. The clinic will advise.

Is it painful?

No. It is a camera-based assessment.
